Safety
Regardless of your profession, safety is always an issue in the workplace. There are many things that can go wrong even in an office type environment as well as more obvious places like construction sites, so it is important to be able to identify, evaluate and act upon any dangers or hazards that may be present in your place of work. As such, every workplace should have a code of conduct with regards to the safety, health and wellbeing of its workers.
It is better to stay safe for many different reasons. One of the main concerns that an employer would have about a lack of safety in the workplace would be the potential reduction in work quality and abundance, due to staff being injured or out of work. This type of thing can be easily avoided with care and attention to the workplace layout, fixing any broken or damaged equipment that could be dangerous, and attempting to make the environment as clean, safe and comfortable for working in as possible.
Safety does not only refer to environment however, as there are lots of different factors that can combine to create something directly or potentially dangerous. Somebody acting in an unsafe way at work can combine with other problems that can cause a danger, so in addition to any environmental concerns it is a good idea to create a list of protocol that your employees can follow for daily activities, more specific points about certain types of danger, as well as a general overview.
